What all the Olympic rings mean.

 For the next few weeks we will be learning all about the Olympics! We were given some tasks we could do and one of them was research what all the Olympic rings mean and some facts about them! Here is mine. What is your favourite event in the Olympics??

Limerick

This week we have been learning about how to write a limerick! A Limerick is a 5 lined poem where the 1st 2nd and  5th last word in the line have to rhyme and the third and fourth have to too! The poem is meant to have a rhythm to it. Here is my limerick.

 

There once was a stripy orange cat
Who loved to chase his friend rat
As the rat ran in fear
The cat ran without a care
Never seen again under the mat.

Book Character door

This week is book week. One of the activity for book week is for your class to decorate a door based on a book. This Year T2 and T3 did it together. Our door was based off Peter Pan. Here are some photos of it.

Last term we were learning about ANZAC day i choose to do animals at war! One of the questions was why were horses used in war this is my answer

 In week 5 T2 and T3 are going on a camp to Hanmer springs. One of the activities was to find where abouts it is find out how far apart it is and 3 intersting places we will be going pass.  It will take 2 hours and 41 Mins.

ANZAC

The Run away

For the Past few weeks on Tuesdays we have been writing a sensory piece of writing. I choose to do it with Cara and Klaudia. The Run away

     The Runaway

I was running away from home after the latest fight between my mum and I, when I fell over. An excruciating pain shot through my back and up my spine. The world went black. Moments later I was in a  potato sack, being thrown into the back of a van. Rough and scratchy against my skin. Juddering. I felt the van starting to move. Where was I going? I wondered. We drove for what felt like days, it was probably just a few hours. When we stopped we were parked on the side of a road I thought. 

All I had on me was my phone. But when I was thrown in the van the screen cracked. I was lucky enough for the phone to still work. I tried to call someone for help, but I had no reception. 

Then I noticed there was a tiny hole  In the sack. I squinted my eyes looking into the hole. I thought I saw the figure of my dad. I got frightened because the last time I saw him was when I was 6. But recognised him straight away. But why would he take me?

Through the blur of the potato sack, I saw him jump out of the van and yank open the door in the back.. The sack and me, was pulled out of the van and I was shoved onto the driveway. 

What is he going to do to me?!

In Te Hiringa last week we have been learning to write a Haiku poem. A Haiku is a Japanese poem that has three lines.
